Megan Rapinoe, is one of the cover stars of Marie Claire’s October 2019 issue, on newsstands September 19.This October issue also celebrates Marie’s Claire’s 25th Anniversary in the U.S. Here are a few excerpts from the interview.
On standing up for her beliefs: “I’m not interested in having a conversation with anyone who, even with different viewpoints, isn’t genuinely trying to make the world a better place.”
On the differences male and female athletes are treated: “In the same breath that someone would call me arrogant, they wouldn’t call Tom Brady or LeBron James or Michael Jordan arrogant. Even when they do call male athletes arrogant, it’s almost in a positive way. But when it comes from a woman, they’re like, ‘How dare she? How dare she know she’s one of the best players in the world? How dare she take a moment to let 55,000 fans absolutely adore her?’ You know? We don’t allow women the space to be that way.”
On her advice to women: “You deserve the space that you can take up. And you can take up as much space as you need.”

Several fans picked up what Hill was putting down, and while Bailey hasn’t replied, her followers did by remarking about how Hill has already made his mark on his soon-to-be wife.
Hill has made no secret about his love for the longtime model and reality star — and it’s typically affectionate rather than lustful.
The sportscaster has professed his adoration of Bailey before. One of the earliest times came last year when he raved about a fresh-faced selfie of the star.

More recently, Bailey had to come to her man’s defense when fans deemed this comment on a photo of the pair “corny.”
“Just cuz you don’t see as much of her, don’t ever think she’s not in the picture. Stronger than ever. #CHill @cynthiabailey10 #LoveWins #ProsperingandGrowing #MOREcomingsoon,” Hill said of a June photo which showed more of him than it did of her.
After one naysayer said Hill was a “cornball,” Bailey replied, “@jacobandree so am I & we are happy cornballs. Have a blessed day🙏🏽”

#MusicNews: Tank Unveils Cover Art & Release Date For Upcoming Album “Elevation”
R&B veteran Tank has just revealed the cover art and release date for his upcoming album “Elevation”. The album is set to release on October 25th, 2019 via Atlantic Records.
This will be Tank’s ninth solo album and his first since “Savage” in 2017. It is led by the single “Dirty” which recently became his latest #1 single on the Adult R&B radio charts.
A tracklist has not yet been released for “Elevation” just yet, but it is also expected to contain recently released song “I Don’t Think You’re Ready”. The album features production and writing from Tank, longtime collaborator J Valentine, Cardiak, Harmony, Doh Boy and more. Appearances include Omari Hardwick, Chris Brown, Keith Sweat, Shawn Stockman, JoJo, Luke James, Major, Carvena, Dante Dontay Duntea, Feather, and Rahky. Tank’s adds:
“This album is about going to the next level, rising to the occasion of success and giving my fans the best music I have to give,” states Tank. “R&B is my legacy and in my veins…I want to lead the charge to bring it back to its rightful place at the top of the charts.”

#FASHIONROCKS: Here’s The Tea on Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty NYFW Show
Rihanna presented her latest Savage x Fenty at New York Fashion Week. The artist/designer had previously promised the event would be “bigger and badder” than ever — and it did not disappoint.
One of the most hyped collections of the season, shortly before the show kicked off (and closed New York Fashion Week) Rihanna posted a teaser on Instagram.
Elsewhere on social media, however, content around the new Savage x Fenty collection has been rather slim — that’s because all attendees were subject to a phone ban. Everyone had to hand their phones over to security until after the show in order to so stop footage leaking. The reason? The entire performance will stream exclusively to Amazon Prime Video on Friday, September 20.
While of course, that means we’re all (kind of) invited to the show, if you can’t wait until later this month to find out what went down, we’ve collected a round-up of the Savage x Fenty show highlights below.
The show took place at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center and, as you can see, was decked out like a total Broadway production — blinding lights, props, and Parris Goebel-choreographed dances. Models stood atop pillars and posed like sculptures.
Rihanna opened the show. The show opened with a choreographed dance from Bad Gal RiRi herself, draped in black lace and dropping characteristically fierce moves. Rihanna enlisted a wild selection of artists to perform during the show, with Halsey, Migos, DJ Khaled, Big Sean, A$AP Ferg, Fat Joe, Fabolous, and Tierra Whack all turning up. Normani even arrived to star in a solo dance performance.
Actors, dancers, and models built up this year’s Savage crew. 21 Savage, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, Joan Smalls, Christian Combs, Alek Wek, and Laverne Cox were just some of the names on this season’s Savage x Fenty runway.
On top of the already swelling list of artists and runway stars, the crowd was also a big mood. Khelani, Diana Von Furstenverg, Ashley Graham, Kacey Musgraves, Hailee Steinfeld, Vanesse Hudgens, Dasha Polanco, and more were all spotted in the crowd.
The collection was fierce. Naturally, the collection previewed was decadent as hell. The collection took inspiration from 1920s flappers and included jewels, chockers, bodysuits, spring-ready shades of pastels and bright canary yellows. But the real highlight of the event? An intricate lace cape — an item we’re definitely excited about adding to our bedroom rotation.
Antonio Brown Accused of Rape In New Lawsuit; Brown Denies Allegations!
After weeks of behind-the-scenes drama and social media antics, Antonio Brown is back in the news for his behavior. But this time, according to The New York Times, Brown’s issues extend far beyond a league fine.
A woman by the name of Britney Taylor says she was raped and sexually assaulted by the baller on three separate occasions. In the new lawsuit obtained by the publication, Taylor says Brown hired her as a personal trainer prior to the alleged incidents, which first occurred in June of 2017.
According to Taylor, in the first incident, Brown “exposed himself and kissed [her] without her consent” during a training session in Pittsburgh. In the second, which occurred later that month in Florida, Taylor said: “Brown, while positioned behind her, began masturbating near her without her knowledge and ejaculated on her back.”
Although Taylor said Brown bragged about the incident in “profane and angry text messages,” she said he reached out a few months later to beg for forgivingness and to convince her to continue training him.
After initial hesitation, according to the suit, Taylor ultimately agreed to continue servicing him. But, just one year later, things, once again, took a turn for the worse.
On May 20, 2018, the woman said: “Brown cornered [her] forced her down onto a bed, pushed her face into the mattress, and forcibly raped her.” She said she tried to fight back, as she yelled “no” and “stop” throughout the incident, but Brown was “too strong and physically overpowered her.”
As a result, Taylor, who said she met Brown while they were both student-athletes at Central Michigan University, is demanding compensation for “physical injuries, pain and suffering, humiliation, embarrassment, stress and anxiety, loss of self-esteem and self-confidence and emotional pain.”
However, in the wake of the allegations, Brown’s attorney, Darren Heitner, has released a statement, denying all allegations, as he claims Taylor’s lawsuit is part of a revenge plot over his refusal to invest in a 2017 “business project.”
“Mr. Brown denies each and every allegation in the lawsuit. He will pursue all legal remedies to not only clear his name, but to also protect other professional athletes against false allegations,” the statement read, as it detailed Brown’s timeline in comparison to Taylor’s. “Again, Mr. Brown denies all of the accuser’s allegations.”
Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS Making Millions Within Minutes Line Sold Out Almost Immediately!
According to reports, within minutes SKIMS surpassed the $2 million mark after the product went live Tuesday (Sept. 10). Every product, which is priced pretty competitively, sold out almost immediately. Kardashian is now working to restock items.
This is a first for shapewear products similar to SKIMS. For example, Spanx brought in $4 million in the first year, as SKIMS made half that in a few short moments.
Kardashian even had to push the launch back an hour after the amount of activity on the site caused it to crash.
Kardashian previously teased the line with Alice Johnson, a woman she helped get released from prison.
She debuted the name in August after facing backlash for the initial name, Kimono, which many said was an appropriation of Japanese culture.
She said, “My fans and followers are a huge inspiration to me – I’m always listening to their feedback and opinions, and am so grateful they shared their ideas for a new brand name. After much thought and consideration, I’m excited to announce the launch of SKIMS Solutionwear™ coming September 10. Mariah Carey's daughter Monroe shops simple just like the rest of us.
On Tuesday (September 10), Carey revealed she gave her 8-year-old the opportunity to have a shopping spree at anyplace in the world. While most fans probably would have expected the youngster, given her mother's expensive taste and lap of luxury, to select a store on the high-end scale of things — Monroe chose a surprisingly relatable destination for her all-out splurge: Target.
The "Shake It Off" musician took to Instagram to share her daughter's modest store choice, along with an adorable picture of her at the familiar retail spot with Monroe, who looked as pleased as ever to be riding inside the big red shopping cart.
“Me: pick anywhere in the world you want to go to for a shopping spree. My daughter," the 49-year-old mommy of two captioned the shot, to which Monroe's father, Nick Cannon, hilariously concurred: "Exactly!!! That’s my daughter!!! 🤣🤣🤣"

Yolanda Adams Supports Kanye West’s Pop-Up Church Sunday Service!
Kanye West’s weekly Sunday service is showing no signs of slowing down, and as the rapper plows ahead with the spiritual event, which recently made its way to his hometown of Chicago, he has the support of gospel star Yolanda Adams behind him.
Adams spoke exclusively to Atlanta Black Star on the red carpet for the Black Music Honors Sept. 5. She explained why West’s foray into the church via his upcoming gospel album as a mainstream rapper is nothing new. Adams dished on the shoe being on the other foot when compared against the history of gospel artists of the 1900s stepping into mainstream genres.
“As long as the message of hope, inspiration and encouragement is coming out, it’s not any different than what happened in Mahalia’s day,” the “Be Blessed” singer says. “Mahalia Jackson was a gospel artist, but she did the Newport Jazz Festival … she was everywhere with Louie Armstrong. She was one of his favorite singers in the whole world. She never did veer away from her message, but she was everywhere.
“It’s not like me and Kirk [Franklin] and Mary Mary started this,” Adams continues. “James Cleveland, Andraé Crouch, The Hawkins Family, they were all going to Woodstock way back in the day. Coachella is a mimic of Woodstock, so everything just happens in cycles, and this just happens to be a cycle where people are recognizing we need some hope, we need some God right now.”
With that in mind, Adams says West and anyone else who wants to spread the message of a bigger plan and higher power has her backing.
“I applaud Kanye, I applaud anybody who is trying to get people to latch on to something bigger than themselves,” she tells ABS.
West first ventured into gospel by launching his weekly pop-up church deemed Sunday service, which debuted at Coachella this spring but has continued weekly ever since. Recently, it was reported that the Chicago MC is readying the release of his debut gospel record, “Jesus Is King,” according to a tracklist Ye’s wife Kim Kardashian tweeted on August 29. The LP is due for release on Sept. 27.
And by the looks of it, Ye’s album will have backing from folks within the gospel industry, as Adams is only the latest gospel act to back West in his continued venture. In April, Kirk Franklin and Erica Campbell hailed the “Life of Pablo” performer for welcoming God into his career.
“Let them start where they start and let God do the work,” Campbell said of West and other secular artists venturing into her home music space. “You can’t sing about Jesus too long without him changing you. … Let ’em all do records! [Lady] Gaga, all y’all! Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj — do a gospel records! Keep singing about Jesus, because when you call him, he answers.”
Franklin explained he’s “excited for any human being that is finding the medicine that lies within the gospel of Jesus Christ.” He added it’s “the healing balm” that’s good for all “so it’s good for Kanye.”
'All My Children' Alum Cameron Mathison Reveals Cancer Diagnosis
All My Children alum Cameron Mathison is battling cancer. The Hallmark Channel host broke the news of his health situation on Instagram Tuesday (September 10), recalling how doctors found a tumor on his right kidney during an MRI procedure he recently underwent for "gut issues" a month ago. The growth was consistent with renal cell carcinoma, a form of kidney cancer that begins in the lining of small tubes in the kidney.
Luckily, Mathison's diet and lifestyle appears to have mitigated the seriousness of the prognosis.
“The good news is that it hasn’t spread to any other organs," he revealed in the post's caption, along with an image of his family of four. "They say my healthy lifestyle and diet has no doubt helped keep it from growing and spreading to other areas, as doctors think it’s been growing in me for minimum 10 years🙏🏼 I am extremely lucky that we found it early.”
While his wife Vanessa, and their two children, Leila, 13, and Lucas, 16, await his surgery scheduled for Thursday (September 12), Mathison, who feels "very grateful and optimistic," has also made a special request to receive "positive thoughts, prayers," and words of encouragement from followers ahead of his operation.
And, sure enough, friends and co-stars showered Mathison with messages of love and support. “Absolutely praying for you Cameron, and over the doctors and nurses during your surgery as well as your family 🙏🏼” wrote Candace Cameron Bure, as his former All My Children co-star Lacey Chabert added: "Lifting you up in prayer! All my love to you and your family ❤️"

Kylie Jenner Poses Nude For Playboy With Travis Scott
Kylie Jenner is taking it all off for Playboy. The young mogul poses nude for the iconic magazine with boyfriend Travis Scott by her side. Jenner unveiled the first photo from the shoot on Instagram, writing, “When Houston meets LA .. 💛 @playboy #ComingSoon.”
Stormi’s mother hugs up on a shirtless Travis, wearing only a cowboy hat on her head. The front of her body remains covered with her butt peeking out, while the Astroworld rapper wraps his arm around her.
The photo is part of Playboy‘s Pleasure Issue. Jenner covers the magazine, which was shot by her longtime personal photographer Sasha Samsanova and creative directed by Travis himself.
During her appearance on “Ellen” this week, Jenner opened up about the one-and-a-half-year-old daughter she shares with Travis. “She is the perfect mixture of both of us. She’s definitely like a little rager. She loves music,” said Kylie, while her mother Kris added, “She is like a little Kylie. It’s really wild.”
According to PEOPLE, the couple wants to expand their family. “Everyone thinks Kylie will be pregnant with her second baby soon. They are trying,” said a source. “Kylie loves being a mom and can’t wait to give Stormi a sibling.”
Drake Demands Fan's Lawsuit Over Alleged Brain Injury Be Dismissed
Drake wants out of the lawsuit brought by a fan, who claims she sustained a brain injury from an incident at one of his concerts. According to court documents, Drake denies all allegations of wrongdoing.
The rapper is responding to a lawsuit filed by a fan named Amanda Giovacco. She attended Drake’s show at Madison Square Garden on August 8, 2016.
Giovacco sued over alleged injuries she sustained at the concert. She claims another person violently struck her with a beer bottle at the show. She accused Drake and the venue of failing to have proper security and overserving liquor.
In the newly filed docs, Drake argues any damages were caused by Giovacco’s own conduct.
Drake says he has no control over third parties and could not have prevented any alleged incident. He points out he doesn’t own or operate Madison Square Garden.
He is asking the judge to dismiss all claims against him ASAP. Back in July, Giovacco sued Drake (real name: Aubrey Graham), The Madison Square Garden, an employee named Joseph Picco and Live Nation Worldwide.
She claims while at the concert the crowd was “rowdy”. She claims she, “was violently struck by a beer bottle that was thrown while attending the DRAKE concert, was maliciously and without just cause or provocation, subjected to a battery.”
She blames Drake and others for failing to prevent, “aggressive and/or violent behavior at the concert, they knew drake has history of violence at his concerts, providing a dangerous weapon at Drake’s concerts”. She also accused them of failing to have proper security
